Hudson Taylor Was a Bearded Gospel Man

Tomorrow's the big day. I'm leaving in 20 hours (11:00AM) to go to Uganda on my first mission trip. It's nothing short of amazing, and I'm thankful for the opportunity to go and share the goodness of Christ. I can't lie though, these past few weeks have been no cakewalk. I've had to daily lean on Christ for assurance and strength.

I've been under spiritual warfare and the enemy has been reminding me of what I was before I was in Christ. Through this I've learned something though, Satan rarely creates lies that aren't based on truth. What I mean by that is, he takes something that is truth and merely perverts it, making it a lie. For instance, the lies he's been telling me are focused on who I was, how weak I am, and how inadequate I am.

The funny thing is those thing are all true and things I rejoice in. I, alone, am defiled, weak, inadequate, and unworthy. Yet, Christ makes me new. I am a new creation (2 Cor. 5:17). Christ makes me clean. I have been washed, sanctified, and justified (1 Cor. 6:11). By grace His power is made perfect in my weakness (2 Cor. 6:11).

Yes, I am weak. Yes, I am inadequate. Yes, I am all these things and more yet God wants to use me, and you, even with all the junk in our past and our imperfections. These things allow us to be used more greatly for His purpose and His glory. I will choose to not get beat down, but like Paul rejoice all the more in my weaknesses.

This leads to the name of this blog; Feeble Enough. It comes from a quote by a British missionary by the name of Taylor Hudson. He spent 51 years in China and founded the China Inland Mission. He said, "God uses men who are weak and feeble enough to lean on Him."

That's all I want to do. Whether in Jonesboro, Kampala, or wherever, I want to lean on God and be used by Him.

Prayer Requests:
  • Unity for the team
  • Boldness to share Christ with other (in our travels and well as in Uganda)
  • Safety during travel
  • Our overall health
  • Especially pray for those we come in contact with, that they may come into a saving knowledge and relationship with Jesus Christ
With love in Christ,
